Fine Styleとは古代コインにのみ使用されるNGCの専門用語で、特に出来栄えが優れる個体に対して与えられる評価。古代コインはハンドメイドで、彫刻師によって実はクオリティにかなりの差異がある。彫刻師は、駆け出し、ベテラン、師範というように大きくわけて3段階存在した。Fine Styleが付与されるレベルの個体を手掛けているのは、おそらく師範クラスの彫刻師であり、彼らはMaster Die（マスターダイ）と呼ばれる手本となる型を造る人物だった。Fine Styleが付与される個体は当然ながら大変稀で、出会える機会はほとんどない。
本品はアレクサンドロス大王の死後、ディアドコイ（後継者）の一人だったセレウコス1世がその治世の初期に発行したものである。セレウコスは統治初期は自身の肖像ではなく、既に一般に広く知られていたアレクサンドロスの肖像で貨幣を造らせていた。その後、自分の肖像を描いた貨幣を発行するようになる。
セレウコスはマケドニア貴族アンティオコスの息子で、アレクサンドロスの側近を務めた将軍。後にセレウコス朝シリアを樹立。アレクサンドロスの東方遠征に従軍し、ペルシア制圧後、バビロンで行われた合同結婚式ではソグディアナの貴族アパメーを妻とする。アレクサンドロスの死後、シリアを中心に小アジア、メソポタミア、イランなどを支配した。
裏側に描かれたゼウスの傍らには「AΛEΞANΔPOY（アレクサンドロウ）」という属格でアレクサンドロスの名が刻まれている。属格とは所有格、英語の「s」にあたり、「アレクサンドロスの」を意味する。つまり、アレクサンドロスの（発行した貨幣）の意。
